Mirinvento realizes batik – paintings, accessories and clothing – in any patterns, designs and colors you like and organizes batik classes for kids and adult.
Each batik is completely handmade and so it is a unique piece of art.
Passionate about art, I have a degree in art conservation and during the 3 years I lived in Malaysia – Miri Sarawak - I studied batik in an atelier of a local artist. When I moved back to Italy I decided to follow my passion for batik...
The course gives all the basic notions of the batik making paintings and foulards on silk and cotton.
The class starts with a brief introduction of the technique and a presentation of several artworks to understand which are the main characteristics of batik painting. Then we will make some batik focusing on the following tools: drawing on silk/cotton, applying the hot wax using the tjanting (consisting of a small thin copper cut with one or more capillary spouts and a handle of reed or bamboo), dying the silk/cotton, fixing the colors and removing the wax.
